Job Overview:
A personal injury law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Case Development Intake Attorney to join the team. The position involves managing a docket of approximately 50 cases and working closely with a case manager. The role focuses on investigating, preserving evidence, and developing cases, with tasks including obtaining accident reports, securing medical records, conducting criminal and social media investigations, and preparing case evaluations. This position also includes client communication and coordination with adjusters and other parties involved in the case.

Location:

Duties:

  • Investigate and develop commercial cases from intake to preparation for litigation.
  • Accept incoming calls from potential new clients (PNCs), ascertain relevant facts, and discuss all aspects of their claims.
  • Secure authorization to sign up, decline, or further evaluate claims.
  • Explain attorney-client contracts to PNCs and sign them up either in person or electronically.
  • Handle status letters, ensuring a minimum of one letter per client per month.
  • Communicate with clients, adjusters, and staff members in a timely and effective manner.
  • Prepare and approve expense requests for cases and submit monthly status reports.
  • Assist clients in the development of medical damages and document demands.
  • Manage property damage claims and ensure all legal obligations are met.
  • Coordinate case reviews and assist in evaluating cases per firm policy.
  • Supervise and motivate case development staff to maximize case value and attorney fees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including after-hours intake and sign-ups.

Requirements:

  • Strong initiative and the ability to take charge of case development tasks.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills, including effective communication and delegation.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • High energy, emotionally intelligent, and customer-focused.
  • Ability to motivate and guide support staff to achieve optimal results.
  • Strong legal research and analysis skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Previous experience supervising non-attorney staff.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed in Texas and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of personal injury experience.

Certifications:

  • Active Texas State Bar license.
