Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable CFIUS and International Trade/Export Controls Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), U.S. export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Experience supporting a team in these areas is essential. The position requires a proactive individual with 2-4 years of relevant experience, who is admitted and actively Barred in the state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on matters related to CFIUS, including navigating the review process for foreign investments in the U.S.
  • Advise clients on compliance with U.S. export controls and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Assist in managing and supporting an active team handling international trade regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Develop and implement strategies for clients to ensure adherence to export controls and ITAR requirements.
  • Conduct research and analysis on international trade regulations and related legal issues.
  • Represent clients in interactions with regulatory agencies concerning export controls and CFIUS reviews.
  • Stay current on developments and changes in international trade regulations and provide updates to clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Experience with CFIUS processes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of U.S. export controls and ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Proven ability to support and contribute to an active legal team.
  • Must be admitted and actively Barred in the state of Georgia.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background with relevant coursework or experience in international trade and export controls.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
