A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced Insurance and Reinsurance Career Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of expertise in insurance coverage and commercial litigation, with a thorough understanding of professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. The candidate must possess outstanding academic credentials and demonstrate superior research and writing abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on insurance coverage matters, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Analyze and interpret complex insurance policies and coverage disputes, advising clients on their rights and obligations.
  • Represent clients in litigation involving insurance coverage issues, preparing and drafting legal documents, motions, and pleadings.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and produce detailed reports, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Engage in depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Monitor and keep updated on changes in insurance law and industry trends to provide informed advice.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop and implement case strategies.
  • Efficiently manage a caseload, ensuring timely progression of cases and adherence to deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.
  • Proven track record of managing complex insurance coverage disputes and litigation.
  • Excellent academic credentials, including a JD from an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated superior research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance coverage and reinsurance law.
  • Advanced research and writing capabilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Exceptional organizational and case management skills.
