Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Intellectual Property (Non-Patent) Associate Attorney with expertise in trademark, copyright, and trade-secret law. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology-related litigation, including matters involving Artificial Intelligence (AI), data collection, and model training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage technology-related litigation and enforcement matters, with a focus on intellectual property rights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and implement comprehensive legal strategies.
  • Counsel clients on potential legal risks related to product development and IP issues.
  • Develop strategic litigation and enforcement plans for complex legal disputes.
  • Perform legal research and analysis, ensuring strong legal writing skills.
  • Oversee the discovery phase of litigation, including managing e-discovery processes with clients and vendors.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and client-facing skills.
  • Effectively work as part of a team, contributing to the success of the firm’s IP practice.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in trademark, copyright, trade secret law, and/or false advertising litigation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of intellectual property laws, including the Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, and trade-secret statutes.
  • Knowledge of computer-access laws, such as CFAA and related state laws, is essential.
  • Highly motivated with a strong academic background, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of legal principles and support technology clients with diverse legal disputes.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of the office location (California) is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Membership in the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in managing complex litigation matters and the discovery phase of cases.
