Job Overview:

A law firm specializing in commercial real estate lending seeks an experienced attorney to represent institutional lenders in a variety of sophisticated real estate finance transactions. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in drafting and negotiating loan documents, overseeing transactions, and managing client relationships.

Location:

  • New York City, NY

Duties:

  • Represent institutional lenders in financing transactions for commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties from inception to closing.
  • Draft and review commercial loan documents, including mezzanine, construction, balance sheet, and bridge loan agreements.
  • Review organizational documents for borrowing entities.
  • Analyze and review commitment letters, term sheets, fee letters, credit agreements, and ancillary loan documents.
  • Oversee real estate secured finance transactions, including workouts and restructurings.
  • Conduct title report and survey reviews and oversee title clearance processes.
  • Handle lending and debt finance for property acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancing, and related transactions.

Requirements:

  • 7–15 years of experience in commercial real estate and commercial lender representation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills for client interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in commercial real estate lending and finance.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
