A law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their team in Miami, FL. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent law school graduates or individuals with limited experience in family law to grow professionally. The successful candidate will work closely with senior attorneys, providing legal support and representation in family law matters. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research skills, be proficient in legal research databases like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively represent clients.

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and preparation.
  • Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including attending hearings and depositions, and assisting with case management.
  • Provide legal advice to clients and develop strategies tailored to their specific family law matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and help navigate family-related legal issues.
  • Utilize Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for case analysis, legal research, and strategy formulation.
  • Support senior attorneys with case file management, ensuring records are organized and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, particularly Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information.
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment and manage individual responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in a legal administrative or support role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish to communicate effectively with clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar License (or the ability to obtain it upon hire).

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Strong writing abilities, particularly in drafting legal documents.
  • Effective verbal communication and client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) to provide comprehensive client support.
