The ideal candidate will handle complex litigation matters related to the oil and gas industry, including royalty disputes, disputes between working interest owners, and property ownership disputes. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of litigation matters within the oil and gas sector, including class and mass actions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents (e.g., pleadings, motions, discovery requests), and prepare for depositions and trials.
  • Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations affecting clients in the energy sector.
  • Collaborate with clients and provide strategic advice on legal issues affecting their operations.
  • Maintain communication with clients, ensuring they are informed of case developments and strategic options.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to or eligibility for the Texas Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Experience with energy-related matters is highly desired.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality client service and maintaining client relationships.
