Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a dedicated Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering evidence, conducting legal research, and representing clients in workers' compensation cases.

Duties:

• Gather evidence and medical records to support client strategy.
• Take depositions of the claimant, witnesses, medical experts, and other parties.
• Conduct discovery to uncover relevant information for cases.
• Perform legal research to stay current with developments in the law.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
• Litigate cases before the workers' compensation division.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience working in a law firm.
• Preferred working knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and track a volume caseload with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Efficiently collaborate with corporate professionals.

Education and Certifications:

• Must be licensed and able to practice law in both Missouri & Kansas.
• A law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Prior experience in the legal field is preferred.
