Code Enforcement Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level Code Enforcement Attorney to join its legal team, handling cases related to code enforcement and gun confiscation for municipal clients. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a requirement for travel to client offices and courts throughout California. The ideal candidate will work closely with municipal authorities to ensure public safety and compliance with local regulations.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of code enforcement and gun confiscation matters for municipal clients.
• Represent clients in civil and criminal cases, including court appearances and legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with city officials and public safety agencies to ensure adherence to local codes and ordinances.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare other legal documents.
• Provide legal advice to municipalities on code enforcement policies and public safety regulations.
• Travel to various client offices and court locations across California as required.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
• 3-5 years of legal experience, with a background in public safety matters or civil and criminal prosecution being a plus.
• Willingness to travel throughout California for court appearances and client meetings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a diverse caseload.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong advocacy skills, particularly in courtroom settings.
• Knowledge of municipal law and public safety regulations is preferred.
