Job Overview
A leading global law firm is seeking a Senior Projects Development Lawyer with 7+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the renewable energy, energy transition, or oil & gas sectors, particularly in managing complex transactions and advising on risk allocation in large-scale infrastructure projects. This position offers an opportunity to work on high-profile, innovative projects in the energy sector, collaborating with developers, investors, and energy companies.

Location

  • Denver, Colorado

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate critical project documents including EPC agreements, O&M agreements, equipment supply contracts, and PPAs.
  • Advise on risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide legal counsel on renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, carbon capture, and other energy transition technologies.
  • Collaborate with developers, investors, and energy companies on complex transactions and project developments.
  • Manage high-profile, large-scale infrastructure projects in various energy sectors.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in projects, construction, and development law.
  • Prior in-house experience at an energy company, developer, or infrastructure firm is strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in risk allocation, insurance, and financing in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with renewable energy and energy transition technologies is preferred.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal and business advice.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in relevant state(s).

Skills

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating project development agreements.
  • Strong understanding of energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide practical legal solutions.
