A New York-based law firm is seeking a Junior Associate to join its Property Tax Appeal Department. This role is ideal for a recent bar admittee with a strong interest in real estate, finance, or property valuation, and with exceptional analytical and writing skills. The position is full-time, in-office, and requires a high level of collaboration with an experienced legal team focused on representing commercial property owners in real estate tax challenges.

Duties

  • Assist in preparing and managing property tax appeal cases

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, filings, and correspondence

  • Analyze financial and valuation data using Microsoft Excel

  • Prepare case files and documents for administrative and judicial proceedings

  • Interact with clients, appraisers, and real estate professionals

  • Support attorneys in proceedings before the NYC Tax Commission and New York Supreme Court

Requirements

  • Must have passed the New York Bar Exam

  • Strong interest in real estate, property tax law, or finance

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required

  • Exceptional work ethic and eagerness to work in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Passed the New York Bar Exam (New York Bar admission preferred or pending)
