Job Overview:

A reputable law firm located in The Woodlands, TX, is seeking a full-time bilingual (Spanish/English) Family Law Attorney. This role focuses on providing exceptional legal representation in family law matters, with a preference for candidates possessing 2-3 years of experience. However, motivated individuals with a strong legal foundation may also be considered.

Duties:

  • Deliver professional representation for assigned clients in family law cases.
  • Attend and participate in hearings and legal appearances as scheduled.
  • Provide support and leadership to the assigned legal team.
  • Assess cases and develop strategic solutions for legal issues.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, propound discovery, and prepare legal memoranda and briefs.
  • Analyze complex facts and legal issues to offer sound legal advice.
  • Prepare and manage family law filings for submission to courts and relevant agencies.
  • Handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence cases.
  • Assist clients with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, guardianships, and paternity issues.
  • Represent clients in family court, advocating for their interests in custody, visitation, and support disputes.
  • Offer compassionate legal counsel to clients navigating sensitive family matters, such as property division and modifications of existing court orders.

Requirements:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Licensing: Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S. and admitted to practice law in Texas.
  • Language: Fluency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in civil/family law is required; relevant paralegal or legal assistant experience may also be considered.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic typing skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet multiple deadlines.
