A law firm in Los Gatos is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for managing all aspects of cases, from intake to conclusion. This includes meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, making court appearances, negotiating settlements, and handling family law matters. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, strong work ethic, and exceptional communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Handle cases from intake through conclusion
  • Meet with clients to discuss legal matters and provide guidance
  • Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Administer depositions and conduct witness interviews
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Make court appearances and argue motions
  • Participate in trials, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties
  • Handle family law cases as needed
  • Perform other activities requested by partners

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in the state of California
  • 6-26 years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Detail-oriented with strong drafting and negotiating skills
  • Ability to communicate legal subject matter to non-attorneys
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Business judgment and strategic legal thinking
  • Courtroom experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Licensed attorney in the state of California
