A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Foreign Investment and National Security Associate Attorney for its Washington DC office.

 

Job Overview:

  • Play a pivotal role in advising clients on matters related to foreign investment and national security.
  • Provide legal guidance on CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States) and sanctions compliance.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and ensure client compliance.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on matters related to foreign investment, national security, and economic sanctions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of CFIUS filings and responses to government inquiries.
  • Advise clients on compliance with international trade regulations and economic sanctions programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess potential national security risks associated with foreign investments and transactions.

 

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of relevant legal experience, including work with CFIUS and/or sanctions.
  • Strong understanding of national security laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with international trade laws, export controls, and economic sanctions regimes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the District of Columbia Bar (or willingness to become admitted).
