Professional Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Professional Liability Associate Attorney with the following qualifications:

Job Overview:

The Professional Liability Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling all phases of litigation related to professional liability cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, excellent academic credentials, and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Conducting fact investigations related to professional liability cases
• Conducting legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law
• Drafting discovery requests, responses, and motions
• Preparing pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions
• Taking and defending depositions
• Participating in mediations and settlement negotiations
• Communicating effectively with opposing counsel, clients, and internal stakeholders
• Representing clients in court for motions, pre-hearing proceedings, and other litigation-related appearances
• Performing all other substantive work necessary to achieve successful outcomes for clients

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in civil litigation
• Experience handling professional liability cases is preferred
• Active license to practice law in the State of Florida, in good standing with The Florida Bar
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to The Florida Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal research databases
