Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of experience in family-based immigration matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a caseload that includes family petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, naturalization, and waivers. Strong oral and written Spanish fluency is required, as the position involves regular communication with Spanish-speaking clients. Asylum case experience is a plus. This role involves some travel to Orange County and Phoenix, AZ for client meetings, hearings, and outreach.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of family-based immigration matters, including family petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, naturalization, and waivers.
  • Provide legal representation for clients in various immigration proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients, ensuring that all legal information is conveyed clearly and accurately.
  • Prepare and file necessary immigration documents, petitions, and forms.
  • Assist clients with the preparation and submission of immigration applications.
  • Represent clients in hearings and at outreach events when required.
  • Travel periodically to Orange County and Phoenix, AZ for client meetings, hearings, and outreach efforts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California or Arizona bar at the time of application.
  • 1-3 years of experience in family-based immigration law.
  • Strong fluency in Spanish, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend hearings in Orange County and Phoenix, AZ.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to California or Arizona bar.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of family-based immigration law, including petitions, adjustment of status, consular processing, and naturalization.
  • Proficient in preparing and filing immigration documents.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively while ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with clients and staff.
