Duties:

• Guide clients through immigration processes by explaining legal concepts and offering strategic solutions.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload, ensuring timely progress and effective outcomes.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at correctional facilities.
• Prepare immigration applications for various petitions, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review immigration applications and adjust materials as necessary to meet legal standards.
• Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations to stay informed on immigration law developments.
• Meet with prospective clients to discuss immigration strategies and determine the best legal approach.
• Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS hearings.
• Provide legal analysis to clients to identify potential benefits in their cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Immigration Law.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing support and collaborating with colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward.
• Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with Case Management Software is a plus.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in California.
