Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated Family Law Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Spokane, WA. The firm is composed of three attorneys and a supportive staff, offering a collaborative environment for attorneys eager to develop their legal career in family law. The ideal candidate will have a passion for family law and a willingness to take responsibility for cases, working both independently and under the guidance of senior attorneys as needed.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law litigation matters, including divorce, custody, and support cases.
  • Manage all aspects of case preparation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, and conducting discovery.
  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and mediation sessions.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to clients on family law matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintain organized client files and meet all court deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in legal writing and drafting.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the state bar (required).

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal drafting and writing.
  • Excellent courtroom presence and litigation skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
