Family Law Attorney (Hackensack, NJ)

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced and dedicated Family Law Attorney to join its office in Hackensack, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex family law matters, including separation, divorce, custody, spousal support, child support, and marital property disputes, with a focus on high-net-worth clients. This role requires exceptional legal writing skills and offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated clients on intricate family law cases.

Duties:

• Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, spousal and child support, and division of marital property
• Draft comprehensive legal documents, motions, pleadings, and agreements with a high degree of precision
• Provide legal counsel and support to clients, focusing on high-net-worth individuals with complex cases
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure successful case outcomes
• Appear in court and mediation sessions, presenting cases and advocating for clients’ best interests
• Travel to the Hackensack office a few days per week as required

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in family law (flexible for strong candidates with different experience levels)
• Extensive knowledge of New Jersey family law, with experience representing clients in matters of divorce, custody, and support
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective client communication and relationship-building
• Ability to manage a complex caseload independently while collaborating within a team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in New Jersey (New York Bar admission is a plus but not required)
