A law firm in San Jose is seeking an experienced Of Counsel Attorney to join their Litigation group, specializing in defending employers in various workplace matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise and defend employers in workplace investigations, administrative charges, and state and federal lawsuits and arbitrations.
  • Independently produce high-quality work product, including legal briefs, motions, and correspondence.
  • Defend agency charges and lawsuits involving employment-related claims such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and non-compete disputes.
  • Represent employers in court, arbitration hearings, administrative agency proceedings, and mediations.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of employment matters, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and professionals within the firm on case strategy and execution.
  • Class Action/ PAGA experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 9 years of legal experience, with a focus on employment law preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle document-intensive cases.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills, with the ability to manage numerous cases simultaneously.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including courtroom advocacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and leverage resources effectively.
