Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents relevant to their case
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing
  • Manage court appearances and trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and performing legal research
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage a workload of multiple cases
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits
  • Accumulate additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter the prosecution's charges
  • Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential goals of case strategy
  • Gather information from witnesses and experts to support clients' positions

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of Criminal Defense experience
  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
