IP Trademark/Copyright Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Newark, NJ, is seeking an experienced IP Trademark/Copyright Attorney to join their practice. The ideal candidate will possess 10-15 years of experience in U.S. and international intellectual property law, with a focus on trademark and copyright disputes and transactions. Key Responsibilities:

• Trademark and Copyright Disputes: Handle and manage trademark and copyright disputes, including litigation and resolution strategies.
• Intellectual Property Transactions: Oversee and advise on trademark and licensing transactions, including drafting and negotiating agreements.
• Legal Documentation: Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, answers, discovery requests, and responses.
• Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research to support intellectual property cases and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Client Interaction: Interact directly with clients to provide legal advice, updates, and case management, ensuring client needs are met effectively.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to develop case strategies and solutions.
• Representation: Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and legal proceedings related to intellectual property matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York; New Jersey license is a plus.
• 10-15 years of experience in U.S. and international intellectual property law, with significant experience in trademark and copyright disputes and transactions.
• Strong writing skills necessary for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
• Excellent research skills to support case development and legal strategy.
• Strong oral communication skills for client interaction and representation.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
