A law firm in Spokane is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney with at least 5 years of experience to advise on a wide range of environmental matters. The candidate will interface with colleagues and clients, providing counsel on regulatory compliance, permitting, risk mitigation, and transactional matters.

 

Duties:

  • Advise on environmental matters associated with mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing.
  • Handle permitting issues related to stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Provide counsel on risk mitigation strategies and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Address emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.
  • Assist with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance.
  • Interface directly with clients and collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice groups.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, permits, and compliance plans.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Strong understanding of federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.
  • Experience with transactional matters and pollution legal liability insurance preferred.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Portable business preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
  • Experience advising clients on transactional matters and risk management.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
