Job Overview:

A law firm in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and court appearances. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and complete discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in civil litigation matters.
  • Attend depositions of parties and witnesses, and prepare deposition summaries.
  • Appear for hearings, including arguments, arbitration, and magistrate hearings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, legal research, and trial preparation.
  • Engage in client communication and provide case updates.
  • Conduct legal research and provide case evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing cases for mediation, settlement negotiations, or trial.
  • Manage and track case deadlines, filings, and other important litigation dates.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar or pending admission for applicants who took the July 2024 exam.
  • Strong interest and experience in civil litigation.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (required) or applicants who took the July 2024 Bar Exam are welcome to apply.
