Duties:

  • Legal Counsel and Representation: Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in all aspects of immigration law, including employment-based cases, family-based cases, and asylum.
  • Federal Appeals: Prepare and file federal appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Court Proceedings: Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and file immigration petitions, applications, and other legal documents.
  • Client Counseling: Counsel clients on immigration options, case strategies, and legal procedures.
  • Case Management: Manage a high caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Legal Research: Conduct detailed legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and procedures to support casework.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and interests before government agencies, including USCIS and the Department of Homeland Security.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain effective communication with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in immigration law and procedures, with a proven track record in handling complex cases.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice law in Florida or any other state.
  • Court Representation: Experience representing clients in immigration court proceedings is mandatory.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in a second language, such as Spanish, is a plus.
  • Client Counseling: Experience with client counseling and advocacy.
