A law firm in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Mid- to Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney with a strong background in products liability defense work. The ideal candidate will have experience representing medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clients in both complex multi-district litigation matters and individual cases. This role requires exceptional research, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

 

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend fact, party, and expert depositions.
  • Engage in motion practice and court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to product liability issues.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar; additional admissions in other jurisdictions are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience as a practicing litigator, with a focus on products liability defense.
  • Experience handling complex litigation matters, including multi-district litigation (MDL).
  • Strong understanding of medical device and pharmaceutical litigation.
  • Former trial level clerkship experience preferred.
  • Scientific background or familiarity with medical and scientific terminology is advantageous.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to handle a variety of tasks independently.
