Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Manage and prosecute biotechnology patent applications
  • Draft and file patent applications, responding to office actions
  • Conduct patentability, validity, and infringement analyses
  • Provide strategic advice on patent portfolio management
  • Collaborate with inventors and clients on IP strategies
  • Participate in client meetings, providing guidance on patent-related issues
  • Prepare legal opinions and analysis on complex biotechnology patent matters

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in biotechnology patent prosecution
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Proven ability to manage patent applications from start to finish
  • Experience in handling biotechnology patent matters
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-facing experience

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • U.S. bar membership
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

Skills:

  • Expertise in biotechnology patent law
  • Strong patent drafting and legal writing skills
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team settings
