Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Toxic Tort Associate Attorney to join its asbestos practice group. The role involves managing complex litigation in the areas of toxic tort and environmental liability. This is an opportunity to handle significant local and national accounts in a collaborative team environment, with the potential for hybrid or fully remote work.

Location

Duties

  • Manage a litigation caseload, handling both local and national accounts across California.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests and responses.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery and pleadings.
  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel, including e-filing experience.
  • Provide trial preparation and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely time records.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California.
  • Experience with motion practice, depositions, and taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Superior research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in California.

Skills

  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
