A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to focus on landlord-tenant law, specifically handling eviction matters. The candidate will work closely with clients, providing legal advice, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in eviction proceedings.

Job Details:

  • Work with clients, primarily landlords and property managers, on landlord-tenant related matters, including assessing the viability of evictions and participating in litigation.
  • Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process, providing step-by-step assistance.
  • Provide legal advice through phone consultations, emails, and video conferences.
  • Draft legal correspondence such as letters and notices tailored to client needs.
  • Litigate unlawful detainer trials in San Diego courts, representing clients effectively.
  • Prepare pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Complete project-based work and other duties as necessary to support the practice group.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 2-3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably with a focus on landlord-tenant law.
  • General knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including law and motion practice and the discovery process.
  • Familiarity with LexisNexis or Westlaw for legal research.
  • Preferred experience with ProLaw or similar legal practice management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and courtroom advocacy.
