A law firm seeks a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Miami, Florida. Duties:

  • Provide strategic immigration legal services and advice to clients.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Oversee and manage a full caseload, ensuring each case is handled effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct client intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
  • Review immigration documents and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on evolving immigration laws and policy changes.
  • Meet with potential clients for consultations to devise immigration strategies tailored to their needs.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and testimony before the USCIS or in court.
  • Analyze cases to identify potential benefits and opportunities for clients.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs, petitions, and other required documentation for various immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven ability to handle a substantial caseload while ensuring the timely progression of cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Expertise in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS-related processes.
  • Experience with case management software is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to deliver effective results.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Florida.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in immigration law, including removal defense, family-based petitions, and humanitarian cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents and communicate with diverse clients.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Familiarity with case management software for tracking and managing cases.
