Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Business Development & Sales Attorney for a full-time position with a leading law firm, located in Houston, TX. This role is focused on revenue generation through client acquisition and retention, while playing a key part in the development of sales strategies. The ideal candidate will be a licensed attorney with a passion for sales and experience in the legal or professional services industry. This position involves travel and offers a hybrid work arrangement following a successful onboarding period.

Duties:

  • Client Acquisition & Retention:

    • Identify potential clients and create strategies for lead generation.
    • Conduct market research to assess legal service needs in target markets.
    • Build and sustain relationships with existing clients, ensuring high satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with team members for smooth transitions from sales to service delivery.
  • Sales Strategy Development & Delivery:

    • Partner with leadership and sales consultants to develop and refine sales strategies.
    • Develop sales plans and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet revenue goals.
    • Monitor market trends to adjust strategies as necessary.
    • Attend networking events, industry seminars, and conferences to promote firm visibility.
    • Report on sales performance metrics such as lead conversions, client acquisition costs, and revenue.
    • Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate sales activity records.
  • Client Consultation & Solution Development:

    • Collaborate with the legal services team to align client needs with service offerings.
    • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to assess their legal requirements.
    • Prepare and present service proposals, agreements, pricing, and engagement letters to potential clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Prior experience in sales within the legal industry, oilfield services, or professional services is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through effectively.
  • Ability to accept coaching and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent client service.
  • Based in Houston, TX.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Sales experience, especially in the legal or professional services industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems; experience with HubSpot preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, strategize, and achieve sales goals.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and client consultation skills.

Software Application Experience:

  • Experience with HubSpot is preferred.
