Attorney with civil rights experience

A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of a leading practice focused on Title IX and civil rights issues. The position can accommodate associates, counsel, or member-level attorneys based on experience and expertise.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough investigations related to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and civil rights or criminal laws addressing sexual and gender-based harassment and violence, as well as protected class discrimination or harassment.
• Assist institutions and governmental agencies in implementing trauma-informed and fair resolution processes.
• Develop written policies, procedures, and educational materials to promote compliance and awareness.
• Ensure compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection frameworks.
• Provide support and guidance on safety and security issues and governance related to institutional misconduct.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including educational institutions, corporations, and non-profits, to design effective systems and infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in investigations related to Title IX and related laws.
• Strong knowledge of the Clery Act and child protection frameworks.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated with demonstrated organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of application.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the state bar where the attorney is applying.

Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to travel as required for the role.
