A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to specialize in Consular Processing in the Phoenix area. This position is ideal for a motivated associate looking to grow in immigration law, particularly in handling consular processing and waiver applications. As an Immigration Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and working closely with a team of immigration attorneys and paralegals to achieve positive outcomes. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of consular processing and waiver cases, including I-130, I-601A, I-212, I-601, consular processing, and K-Visa applications
  • Prepare clients for consulate interviews, ensuring all necessary documents and forms are in order
  • Represent clients before USCIS and other relevant agencies
  • Review immigration applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Supervise a team of paralegals, ensuring they meet productivity targets and client expectations
  • Conduct legal analysis to identify potential benefits or strategies for clients’ cases
  • Draft and submit legal briefs, appeals, and motions for various immigration matters
  • Provide regular updates to clients on case progress and changes in the law

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on consular processing and waivers
  • Strong record of managing a caseload and advancing cases efficiently
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Ability to provide clear and concise legal advice and develop strategies for complex cases
  • Experience with Case Management Software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission (candidates awaiting bar admission may be considered)

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent legal writing and research abilities
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multiple deadlines
  • Experience with consular processing applications and waivers
  • Knowledge of immigration law, including USCIS processes and visa petitions
