Job Overview

A prestigious law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Senior Managing Associate Attorney with expertise in commercial lending, banking, and finance. This role involves working with a diverse range of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, private credit providers, and borrowers across various industries. The attorney will be actively involved in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex financial transactions while mentoring junior associates and contributing to the firm’s growing banking and finance practice.

Duties

• Lead negotiations for various credit and debt arrangements.
• Manage commercial lending and financing transactions from inception to closing, including cross-border and syndicated debt transactions.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys in loan documentation review and legal due diligence.
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships across financial institutions and corporate borrowers.
• Contribute to the growth and expansion of the firm’s banking and finance team.
• Work on multi-jurisdictional debt financing matters with an international scope.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial lending, banking, or finance in a private practice setting (or eight years for counsel-level applicants).
• Strong understanding of secured and unsecured financing structures, including acquisition finance, asset-based lending, warehouse lending, fund finance, trade finance, and venture debt.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong familiarity with secured lending transactions and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York and good standing.
