Job Overview
A respected law firm specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury cases is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team. Experience in healthcare and/or medical/healthcare training/background, a plus. This hybrid position offers flexibility, with the opportunity to work remotely, in-office, or in a hybrid setting. The Associate Attorney will work on a diverse range of cases, including defense for healthcare providers and professionals in medical malpractice suits, as well as representation before licensing boards.

Duties

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice and personal injury cases, managing all stages of litigation
  • Handle discovery, depositions, and dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as law and discovery motions
  • Participate in administrative hearings and trial preparation
  • Provide legal advice and representation for healthcare providers and professionals
  • Represent healthcare licensees before regulatory licensing boards
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal support staff to manage cases efficiently
  • Utilize Lexis+ AI platform for research and case management

Requirements

  • Active California Bar license
  • Should have litigation experience
  • Experience with preparing law and discovery motions, as well as summary judgment motions
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work in a team environment while maintaining independence in case management
  • Background in healthcare or medical training is a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Four-year bachelor's degree

Certifications

  • Current membership in the California State Bar (required)
