A law firm seeks a skilled and proactive Associate Attorney to join its team in Coral Gables, FL. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual to gain valuable experience in real estate and construction law while working with a well-established firm. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research and drafting skills, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple legal tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and legal arguments.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions to dismiss (MTD), and motions for summary judgment (MSJ).
  • Represent clients in settlement negotiations and explore alternative dispute resolution options.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, gathering essential information for ongoing cases.
  • Respond to and prepare discovery requests, managing related legal issues.
  • Attend court hearings and present well-prepared legal arguments.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and strategic guidance.
  • Draft legal opinions for real estate developers and condominium association clients.

Requirements:

  • Must be fully licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Strong legal research abilities using platforms like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and precision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in case management.
  • Ability to manage individual caseloads while contributing to team efforts.
  • Experience or interest in real estate and construction law preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis.
  • Exceptional writing and drafting skills for legal documents.
  • Strong analytical abilities to address complex legal issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred but not required.
