A law firm in New York City is seeking a Junior Intellectual Property Trademark Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience, superior analytical skills, strong academic credentials, and excellent oral, writing, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be an active Bar member in the jurisdiction.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with trademark clearance, registration, maintenance, and enforcement matters.
  • Conduct trademark searches and provide analysis on availability and registrability.
  • Draft and prosecute trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign trademark offices.
  • Manage trademark portfolios and coordinate with international associates on global trademark issues.
  • Prepare and respond to office actions and other correspondences with the USPTO.
  • Conduct and oversee trademark due diligence in connection with corporate transactions.
  • Handle trademark opposition, cancellation, and other administrative proceedings.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on trademark protection and enforcement strategies.
  • Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, including coexistence agreements, licensing agreements, and settlement agreements.
  • Stay current on trademark law developments and provide updates to clients and colleagues.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction (New York).
  • 1-3 years of experience in trademark law.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction (New York).
