Job Overview:

A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a highly qualified Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess high academic achievement, substantial experience in real estate finance law at a large law firm, and exceptional writing and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Manage and run transactions on behalf of lenders from inception through closing and post-closing.
  • Handle loan origination work for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions, including mezzanine loans and preferred equity.
  • Provide asset management and workout services.
  • Conduct secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents related to real estate finance transactions.
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory matters related to real estate finance.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, clients, and external parties to ensure smooth and efficient transaction processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of broad real estate finance experience.
  • Extensive experience in loan origination work for large structured commercial real estate finance transactions.
  • Preferred experience in mezzanine loans, preferred equity, asset management, and workout services.
  • Proven ability to run transactions on behalf of lenders from inception through closing and post-closing.
  • Solid experience in secondary market repurchase facility work and other exit strategies.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California.
