Job Title: Personal Injury Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm located in Terrell, TX is seeking a dedicated and driven attorney specializing in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate should be able to manage an immediate caseload, demonstrate advanced legal analysis, and work efficiently through various stages of litigation. Experience in jury trials, depositions, and drafting motions is preferred.

Duties:

  • Assist in client interviews when necessary
  • Collect and organize evidence for liability and damages in support of claims
  • Analyze legal issues to identify other liable parties or factors that may impact recovery
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and discuss litigation options with clients
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as summons and complaints
  • Serve legal summons and complaints to defendants
  • Manage pleadings, discovery demands, and responses (including interrogatories, production requests, and admissions)
  • Hire expert witnesses as necessary (e.g., accident reconstructionists, medical experts)
  • File required court documents related to witnesses and exhibits
  • Prepare for and attend mediation sessions
  • Engage focus groups for high-exposure cases
  • Draft and respond to post-trial motions if necessary
  • Maintain regular communication with clients
  • Assist in evaluating and screening cases, including support for the intake department
  • Manage litigation docket, including drafting motions, legal research, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Collaborate closely with other attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and management
  • Notify team members when cases are settled for docket updates

Requirements:

  • Experience in personal injury litigation, including managing various stages of legal proceedings
  • Strong skills in legal analysis, oral and written communication
  • Ability to handle a diverse caseload independently
  • Familiarity with drafting and arguing complex motions

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
