Job Overview: A law firm in Columbus, OH, is seeking a skilled Real Estate and Real Estate Finance Attorney with 5+ years of experience in commercial finance and real estate matters. The ideal candidate will handle various real estate financing transactions and provide counsel on real estate development and transactional matters.

Duties:

  • Represent lender and borrower clients in real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, term loans, and mezzanine loans.
  • Provide legal advice and support on acquisitions, dispositions, and real estate development projects.
  • Draft and negotiate transactional documents such as purchase agreements, leases, financing agreements, and related documents.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and assessments related to real estate transactions.
  • Handle legal aspects of zoning, land use, and environmental compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar (active and in good standing).
  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on commercial finance and real estate.
  • Proven experience in real estate financing transactions, representing lenders and borrowers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tax credits, affordable housing, or public finance transactions.
  • Prior experience in real estate development projects.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.

Certifications:

  • Certification or specialization in Real Estate Law (preferred).
