A law firm in Des Moines is seeking a Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The candidate will represent a broad range of clients in out-of-court restructuring, state court creditors’ rights matters, and complex bankruptcy cases. Desired candidates will have experience with sophisticated bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues, including business torts, contract disputes, liens, foreclosures, receiverships, voidable transfers, claims litigation, adversary cases, cash collateral or priority disputes, and 363 proceedings. Drafting and prosecuting contested matters with discovery and courtroom experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize and manage workload.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in out-of-court restructuring, state court creditors’ rights matters, and complex bankruptcy cases.
  • Handle a broad range of sophisticated bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues.
  • Draft and prosecute contested matters with discovery and courtroom experience.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Manage caseload and prioritize workload effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Iowa.
  • 3+ years of experience in bankruptcy and creditors' rights law.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

 

Education:
