Location:

Duties:

  • Explain immigration law concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload and ensure timely progress of cases
  • Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers
  • Prepare a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as necessary
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients to provide strategic consultations and determine the best course of action
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to identify potential case benefits
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Strong ability to manage caseloads and move legal cases forward
  • Preferably bilingual (English/Spanish), but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and contribute to strategic legal discussions
  • Experience in Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of immigration law, particularly EOIR and USCIS matters
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities
