Job Overview

A prominent law firm is looking for an IP & Technology Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Washington, DC. The candidate should have 4-6 years of patent litigation experience and strong academic credentials, ready to take on significant responsibilities with direct client contact in various intellectual property matters.

Location

  • Washington, DC

Duties

  • Litigate cases involving patents, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition in federal courts and before the USITC.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, appellate briefs, and correspondence with counsel.
  • Collaborate with experts and assist in report preparation.
  • Manage discovery processes, including document production, written discovery, and depositions.
  • Prepare for and assist in jury and bench trials and administrative hearings.
  • Argue motions, trials, and appellate arguments in state and federal courts, including proceedings before the PTAB and ITC.
  • Develop dispute settlement strategies, including mediation.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary collaboration with other practice areas to provide comprehensive legal advice.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Experience in patent and ITC litigation preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of hire and in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Patent Bar preferred.
  • Background in science or engineering is advantageous.
