Associate Attorney needed for Los Angeles office

Job Overview:
A reputable and forward-thinking mid-sized law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles. The attorney will handle cases from inception to resolution, working closely with experienced partners and team members. Duties:

• Manage civil litigation cases, including wrongful death, business disputes, and personal injury claims
• Develop legal strategies, conduct research, and draft pleadings and motions
• Manage discovery processes and case documentation
• Argue motions in court and attend mediations
• Assist with trial preparation and gain trial experience
• Work independently to manage a caseload while collaborating with colleagues
• Communicate with clients to provide legal guidance and ensure successful outcomes

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an attorney
• Proven experience in civil litigation, ideally within a law firm environment
• Courtroom experience, including taking depositions (trial experience is a plus)
• Strong legal research and writing skills with attention to detail
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while working well with a team
• Client-focused mindset with a passion for achieving successful outcomes

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar in the jurisdiction where the attorney will practice
