The role offers immediate client interaction, working on complex and sophisticated matters, and the opportunity to provide practical advice to high-profile clients.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation, including client interaction, case strategy, and coordination.Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft key documents such as briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.Handle privacy litigation matters and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws and regulations.Provide strategic legal advice on data privacy and technology transactions, focusing on incident response and cybersecurity.Collaborate with clients to navigate legal risks associated with data breaches and privacy violations.Participate in negotiations and drafting agreements related to technology transactions and data privacy matters.Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of evolving privacy regulations and emerging legal trends.Mentor junior associates and collaborate with a team of seasoned attorneys in delivering exceptional legal services.Requirements:Experience:Significant litigation experience, particularly in privacy litigation.Proven ability to manage all elements of case work-up and trial preparation.Experience in a law firm or similar professional environment, with exposure to sophisticated legal matters.Strong background in technology transactions and data privacy, especially incident response.Knowledge:Thorough understanding of federal, state, and international privacy laws (such as GDPR, and CCPA).Familiarity with the legal complexities involved in data breaches and cybersecurity incidents.Skills:Strong legal research and writing abilities, demonstrated through drafting of briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, and discovery requests.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.Ability to offer practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients.Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Education and Certifications:Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Bar in Utah, or the ability to obtain admission in Utah within a reasonable time frame.CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or other privacy certifications preferred.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience with privacy litigation or incident response.Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients on sophisticated legal matters.Strong academic credentials from a reputable law school.Location:Salt Lake City, UTBenefits:Medical insuranceDental InsuranceLife insuranceDisability insuranceVoluntary insurance including vision401(k) retirement planPaid time off
