Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of litigation work-up and trial preparation for privacy-related cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and drafting of briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Provide practical, strategic legal advice to clients on tech transactions and data privacy matters.
  • Respond to data breaches and privacy incidents, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws.
  • Engage with clients on privacy-related matters, offering clear and actionable guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support privacy compliance initiatives and handle complex tech transactions.
  • Stay up to date on changes in privacy laws and regulations to provide cutting-edge legal advice.
  • Manage discovery and other procedural aspects of litigation with attention to detail.
  • Participate in client presentations, and strategy meetings, and contribute to the overall development of privacy practices within the firm.

Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (or eligible for immediate licensure).
  • Excellent academic credentials are required.

Experience Requirements:

  • Significant litigation experience, particularly with privacy litigation or incident response cases.
  • Prior experience managing all elements of case work-up and trial preparation.
  • Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, including the ability to draft complex legal documents.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm or similar legal environment is required.
