A law firm in Macon is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to manage a substantial caseload, overseeing all aspects of cases from inception through to preparation for demands. The ideal candidate will handle client interactions, case investigations, and coordination with insurance companies and medical providers. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, and experience in Workers' Compensation law.

Duties:

  • Manage a heavy caseload, handling all aspects of Workers' Compensation cases from inception to preparing files for demands.
  • Open new files, establish initial client contact, and maintain regular communication with clients.
  • Investigate cases thoroughly, gathering and analyzing intake information and relevant documents, and entering data into the database.
  • Verify insurance coverage and liability issues; maintain ongoing contact with insurance companies.
  • Oversee clients’ medical care, coordinating with medical providers, scheduling appointments, and explaining procedures and documentation to clients.
  • Continuously monitor case status, review medical records, and organize and maintain case files.
  • Prepare files for submission to demand writers.
  • Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Provide excellent customer service, manage time effectively, and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and work on the phones for extended periods.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, field associates, and vendors.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited university.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation law.
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology is a plus.
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
