Senior Financial Restructuring Special Situations Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Senior Financial Restructuring Special Situations Associate Attorney to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in complex finance transactions involving secured and unsecured credit facilities, special situation lending, and debt restructuring, with a keen attention to detail. Special situations finance experience is a must, along with prior law firm experience and admission to the New York State Bar.

Job Overview:

• Lead and support financial restructuring and special situations transactions.
• Manage complex finance transactions with a focus on secured and unsecured credit facilities.
• Provide legal counsel and support to clients navigating debt restructuring processes.

Duties:

• Oversee and manage financial restructuring and special situations transactions.
• Structure and negotiate credit facilities, including secured and unsecured lending arrangements.
• Advise clients on debt restructuring strategies and implementation.
• Conduct due diligence and review legal documentation.
• Draft and review finance documents, including loan agreements, security documents, and restructuring plans.
• Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
• Provide legal guidance and support to clients facing financial challenges or distressed situations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 6-8 years of experience in financial restructuring, special situations finance, or related practice areas.
• Strong understanding of complex finance transactions and debt restructuring processes.
• Prior experience in a law firm environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
