Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and screen potential civil rights cases through detailed legal research to determine their viability.

  • Lead and manage litigation processes, from case initiation through to resolution. This includes preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, and drafting complex motions.

  • Represent clients in depositions and court hearings when necessary, advocating for their rights effectively.

  • Collaborate closely with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those incarcerated, to understand their cases and ensure their legal needs are met.

  • Work alongside senior attorneys and the legal team to strategize and develop case approaches.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active and valid license to practice law.

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of litigation experience, ideally in civil rights, constitutional law, or trial law.

  • Strong proficiency in legal research, drafting complex motions, and developing case law.

  • Demonstrated experience in handling depositions, court hearings, and appellate matters.

  • Genuine interest in civil rights and constitutional law, with an eagerness to contribute to case law development.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar license in good standing.
