Job Overview

A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Counsel for its growing insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in insurance defense, with significant first-chair trial experience. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home, with occasional requirements to attend court, depositions, and site inspections. Duties

• Provide legal counsel and represent clients in insurance defense matters, particularly in general liability, product liability, and commercial automobile claims.

• Handle first-chair trials, managing cases from inception to resolution.

• Collaborate with a team of paralegals and legal assistants to manage casework.

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and site inspections as necessary.

• Utilize technology to manage cases in a paperless, cloud-based environment.

• Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and timely updates on case status.

• Contribute to the expansion and growth of the firm's insurance defense practice.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance defense.

• Proven first-chair trial experience, with a focus on general liability, product liability, and commercial automobile claims.

• Experience with toxic tort claims is a plus.

• Licensed to practice law in California (Southern or Northern California).

• Strong ability to manage complex cases and make strategic decisions.

• Comfortable working remotely and utilizing cloud-based technology.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote teams.

• Willingness to travel for court appearances, depositions, and inspections as required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in California.
